Method

Churro Dough Preparation

1

Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1 cup of unsalted butter, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

2

Add Flour

Once the mixture is boiling, remove it from heat and immediately stir in 1.5 cups of all-purpose flour until it forms a ball of dough.

3

Incorporate Eggs

Let the dough cool for about 5 minutes. Then, add 2 large eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth.

Chocolate Filling Preparation

4

Melt Chocolate

In a small saucepan over low heat, combine 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips with 0.5 cups of heavy cream. Stir until smooth and fully melted. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Frying Churros

5

Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).

6

Pipe the Dough

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 4-6 inch long strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors.

7

Fry Churros

Fry the churros until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Coating and Filling

8

Prepare Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow dish, mix 0.5 cups of granulated sugar with 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.

9

Coat Churros

While still warm, roll the churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

10

Fill Churros

Using a filling tip or a thin piping nozzle, fill each churro with the melted chocolate mixture. Serve immediately.
