Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Pineapple

Cut the pineapple into small cubes. You will need about 1 cup of pineapple cubes for the recipe.

2

Prepare the Jalapeño

Slice the jalapeño pepper in half, remove the seeds for less heat, and chop it finely.

3

Mix the Spices

In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika and ground licorice root. Set aside.

Cooking

4

Sauté the Ingredients

In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the pineapple cubes and chopped jalapeño. Sauté for about 5 minutes, until the pineapple is slightly caramelized.

5

Add Seasoning

Sprinkle the smoked paprika and ground licorice mixture over the sautéed pineapple and jalapeño. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

6

Season to Taste

Add salt and black pepper to taste. Stir and let cook for another minute.

Serving

7

Plate the Dish

Remove from heat and serve warm as a side dish or topping for grilled meats or tacos.
