Deep Fried Pickles

Method

Preparation Steps

1

Prepare the Pickles

Slice the large pickles into wedges and set aside.

2

Prepare the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

3

Prepare the Egg Mixture

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.

4

Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

5

Coat the Pickles

Dip each pickle wedge into the egg mixture, then dredge in the flour-cornmeal mix, ensuring it's well coated.

6

Fry the Pickles

Carefully place the coated pickle wedges into the hot oil, frying in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

7

Prepare the Garlic Dill Sauce

In a small bowl, mix sour cream with dill weed and a pinch of salt. Adjust seasoning to taste.

8

Serve

Serve the deep-fried pickles hot with the garlic dill sauce on the side.
