Preparation
Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium heat.
Add Malt Extract
Once the water is boiling, stir in 1 cup of malt extract until fully dissolved.
Add Hops
Add 1 oz of hops to the boiling mixture and let it boil for 60 minutes.
Flavoring
In the last 5 minutes of the boil, add 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of orange zest, and 1 cinnamon stick.
Fermentation
Cool the Mixture
After boiling, cool the mixture quickly by placing the pot in an ice bath or letting it sit at room temperature until it reaches about 70°F (21°C).
Transfer to Fermentation Vessel
Once cooled, transfer the mixture to a fermentation vessel, leaving some space at the top.
Add Yeast
Sprinkle 1 packet of yeast on top of the mixture in the fermentation vessel. Do not stir.
Seal and Store
Seal the fermentation vessel with an airlock and store it in a dark, cool place for about 1-2 weeks.
Bottling
Prepare Bottling Equipment
Sanitize all bottling equipment thoroughly to prevent contamination.
Transfer to Growler
Once fermentation is complete, carefully transfer the beverage into the glass growler, leaving sediment behind.
Seal the Growler
Seal the growler tightly. Your glass growler is now ready to be stored or consumed!
