Method
Preparation
Cook the Tater Tots
Preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the tater tots. Spread the frozen tater tots in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake until golden and crispy, usually about 25-30 minutes.
Chop the Scallions
Wash and thinly slice the scallions, separating the white parts from the green tops.
Fontina Fondue
Melt the Fontina Cheese
In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Heat over medium heat until the cream is warm but not boiling. Gradually add the fontina cheese, stirring constantly until melted and smooth.
Combine the Ingredients
Once the cheese is melted, remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the crumbled bacon and the white parts of the scallions into the cheese mixture.
Assembly
Assemble the Loaded Tots
Once the tater tots are done baking, remove them from the oven and transfer to a serving platter. Drizzle the fontina fondue generously over the tater tots.
Garnish and Serve
Top the loaded tots with the remaining green parts of the scallions. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy!
