Fried Chicken Ingredients

Method

Instructions

1

Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add the chicken pieces, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

2

Prepare the Flour Mixture

In a separate bowl, mix the all-purpose flour with a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside.

3

Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or Dutch oven, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

4

Coat the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the buttermilk marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring each piece is well-coated.

5

Fry the Chicken

Carefully place the coated chicken pieces in the hot oil, working in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 12-15 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).

6

Drain and Serve

Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oil and place it on a wire rack or paper towels to drain. Allow to rest for a few minutes before serving.
