Method

Guacamole Preparation

1

Prepare the Avocados

Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.

2

Mash the Avocado

Using a fork or a potato masher, mash the avocado to your desired level of creaminess (smooth or chunky).

3

Add Lime Juice

Pour in the lime juice to the mashed avocado and mix well to combine.

4

Chop Vegetables

Finely dice the red onion and jalapeño pepper, and chop the cilantro.

5

Combine Ingredients

Add the diced onions, jalapeño, chopped cilantro, and salt to the guacamole mixture. Stir gently until all ingredients are well incorporated.

6

Taste and Adjust

Taste the guacamole and adjust salt or lime juice if necessary.

Tortilla Chips Preparation

7

Cut the Tortillas

Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into triangles (like a pizza).

8

Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

9

Fry the Chips

Carefully add a handful of tortilla triangles into the hot oil, frying in batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon.

10

Drain and Season

Place the fried chips on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. While still warm, sprinkle with salt.
