Method

Prepare the Meat Filling

1

Cook the Beef and Vegetables

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

2

Add Vegetables and Seasoning

Add the diced onion, carrots, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are soft.

3

Simmer with Broth and Sauce

Stir in the frozen peas, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Prepare the Mashed Potato Topping

4

Boil the Potatoes

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the diced potatoes and cook for 15-20 minutes or until tender.

5

Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

6

Mix in Cheese

Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and well combined.

Assemble and Bake

7

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

8

Fill Mini Pies

Spoon the meat filling into mini pie dishes or ramekins, filling them about 2/3 full.

9

Top with Mashed Potatoes

Spread the mashed potatoes on top of the meat filling evenly.

10

Bake

Place the mini shepherd's pies in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.

11

Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your mini shepherd's pies!
