Meatloaf and Toppings

Method

Preparation Steps

1

Prepare the Meatloaf

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.

2

Shape and Cook

Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it on a grill-safe tray. Cook on the grill for about 30-35 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

3

Add the Glaze

In the last 5 minutes of cooking, brush the meatloaf generously with Sriracha sauce.

4

Melt the Cheese

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the meatloaf and close the grill lid to melt the cheese, about 2-3 minutes.

5

Caramelize the Onions

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sugar, cooking until the onions are caramelized, about 10-12 minutes.

6

Toast the Bread

While onions are caramelizing, toast the Milano bread slices on the grill or in a toaster.

7

Assemble the Sandwich

Once the meatloaf is cooked and cheese is melted, slice the meatloaf. Place a slice on each piece of toasted Milano bread, top with caramelized onions, and serve.
