Method

Preparing the Halloumi

1

Cut the Halloumi

Slice the Halloumi cheese into thick fries, about 1 cm wide.

2

Season the flour

In a shallow bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper together until well combined.

Frying the Halloumi

3

Heat the oil

In a large, deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

4

Coat the Halloumi

Dredge each Halloumi fry in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.

5

Fry the Halloumi

Carefully place the coated Halloumi fries into the hot oil, frying them in batches to avoid overcrowding. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

6

Drain the fries

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Preparing the Dipping Sauce (Optional)

7

Mix the sauce ingredients

In a small bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garlic powder, and chopped dill. Mix until smooth.

8

Serve

Serve the crispy Halloumi fries hot with the dipping sauce on the side.
