Preparation

1

Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring 4 quarts of water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and stir in the spaghetti. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

2

Sauté the Shrimp

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then add the shrimp, and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through.

3

Add Tomatoes and Basil

Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet with the shrimp. Sauté for another 2-3 minutes until the tomatoes start to soften. Stir in the chopped fresh basil and lemon juice, mixing well.

4

Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the shrimp and tomato mixture. Toss everything together to combine, ensuring the pasta is well-coated with the sauce.

5

Serve the Dish

Divide the shrimp and pasta mixture into serving plates. Drizzle with extra olive oil if desired, and garnish with additional fresh basil. Serve immediately.
