Steak Preparation

1

Marinate the Steak

In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.

2

Coat the Steak

Place the flat iron steak in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Ensure the steak is evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

3

Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, approximately 450°F (232°C). Ensure the grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.

4

Grill the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Place the steak on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and grill for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare (adjust time for desired doneness).

5

Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

6

Slice and Serve

Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately.
