Method
Mussels Preparation
Clean the Mussels
Rinse the mussels under cold water, scrubbing the shells to remove any dirt or sand. Remove any beards if present.
Add Wine and Mussels
Pour in the white wine and bring to a simmer. Add the cleaned mussels to the pot, cover, and let steam for about 5-7 minutes or until the mussels open.
Prepare Saffron Cream Sauce
In a small bowl, steep the saffron threads in a few tablespoons of warm water. Once the mussels are open, remove the lid and add heavy cream and saffron to the pot. Stir gently.
Season and Serve
Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot with sauce poured over the mussels.
Bonu' Fries Preparation
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Cut Potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips, similar to the size of traditional fries.
Coat with Oil and Seasoning
In a large bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, and salt until evenly coated.
Bake the Fries
Spread the coated fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Serve
Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving alongside the mussels.
