Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

1

Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form into patties about ¾ inch thick.

Cook the Burger Patty

3

Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

4

Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Prepare the Toppings

5

Slice the Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, wash and slice the lettuce, tomato, and onion. Cut the tomato into thick slices and the onion into rings.

6

Prepare the Pickles

If using whole pickles, slice them into rounds.

Toast the Buns

7

Butter the Buns

Spread butter on the cut sides of the burger buns.

8

Toast the Buns

Place the buns on the grill or in a pan, cut side down, and toast until golden brown.

Assemble the Burger

9

Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, spread 1 tbs of ketchup and 1 tbs of mustard. Place the cooked cheeseburger patty on top.

10

Add Toppings

Layer the lettuce, tomato, onion rings, and pickles on top of the patty. Place the top half of the bun on top to complete the burger.
