Method

Preparation

1

Form Ice Cream Balls

Using a scoop, form balls of vanilla and chocolate ice cream. You can alternate flavors to create a marbled effect or keep them separate. Once formed, place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

2

Freeze Ice Cream Balls

Place the baking sheet in the freezer for at least 1-2 hours or until the ice cream balls are firm.

Coating the Ice Cream

3

Melt Chocolate

In a small saucepan over low heat, combine dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Stir until melted and smooth.

4

Coat with Cocoa Powder

Remove the ice cream balls from the freezer. Quickly dip each ball into the melted chocolate mixture, then roll in unsweetened cocoa powder until well coated. Return them to the baking sheet.

5

Chill Again

Once all the ice cream balls are coated, return them to the freezer for another 30 minutes to set the coating.

Serving

6

Plate the Tartufo

Once set, remove the tartufo from the freezer. Optionally, garnish with chopped nuts and chocolate shavings before serving.
