Method
Tuna Preparation
Prepare the Tuna
Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
Coat with Sesame Seeds
Spread the sesame seeds on a plate. Press each tuna steak into the sesame seeds to coat both sides evenly.
Asian Slaw Preparation
Combine Slaw Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, shredded carrot, sliced red bell pepper, sliced green onions, and chopped cilantro.
Make the Dressing
In a small bowl, whisk together rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey, salt, and pepper.
Toss the Slaw
Pour the dressing over the slaw mixture and toss everything together until well combined. Allow it to sit for at least 10 minutes to let the flavors meld.
Assembly and Serving
Slice the Tuna
Once the tuna has rested, slice it into thin strips.
Plate the Dish
On a serving plate, place a generous serving of the Asian slaw. Arrange the sliced tuna on top or beside the slaw.
Garnish and Serve
Add pickled ginger and a small dollop of wasabi on the side. Serve immediately and enjoy!
