Method

Preparing the Fries

1

Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into long strips, about 1/4 inch thick, to resemble fries.

2

Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch, making the fries crispier.

3

Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.

4

Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the soaked and drained potato strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

5

Season with Salt

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with salt to taste.

6

Serve with Ketchup

Place the fries on a plate and serve with ketchup on the side for dipping.

Preparing the Kid's Drink

7

Choose the Drink

Select the kid's favorite flavor of fountain drink. Popular options include cola, lemon-lime, or fruit punch.

8

Serve the Drink

Pour the chosen fountain drink into a kid-sized cup and serve alongside the fries.
