Shrimp Preparation
Clean the Shrimp
Rinse the fresh shrimp under cold running water to remove any debris. If the shrimp are not already peeled and deveined, remove the shells and devein them by making a shallow cut along the back and removing the dark vein.
Chill the Shrimp
Let the shrimp sit in the ice water for about 5 minutes. Once chilled, drain them and pat dry with paper towels.
Cocktail Sauce Preparation
Mix the Sauce
In a medium bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Season the Sauce
Taste the cocktail sauce and add salt to your liking. Adjust any other ingredients if necessary to suit your taste.
Serving
Plate the Shrimp
Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter. You can garnish with lemon wedges or fresh herbs if desired.
Serve with Sauce
Serve the shrimp with the cocktail sauce on the side for dipping. Enjoy your fresh shrimp cocktail!
