Cooking Instructions

1

Rinse the Rice

In a fine mesh strainer, rinse 1 cup of white rice under cold running water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch and prevents the rice from becoming sticky.

2

Combine Ingredients in Pot

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, 2 cups of water, 1 tsp of salt, and 1 tbs of olive oil or butter. Stir gently to distribute the salt and oil.

3

Bring to a Boil

Place the saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring the mixture to a rapid boil, making sure to keep an eye on it to prevent it from boiling over.

4

Simmer the Rice

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid. Allow the rice to simmer for 18-20 minutes without lifting the lid.

5

Fluff and Serve

After the cooking time, remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes. Then, use a fork to fluff the rice gently and serve warm.
