Preparation

1

Prep the Ingredients

Wash the tomatoes and basil leaves. Dice the tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl. Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the bowl with the tomatoes.

2

Make the Tomato Mixture

Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the tomato and garlic mixture. Drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and black pepper. Mix everything together gently and let it sit for about 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Grilling the Bread

3

Prepare the Baguette

Slice the baguette diagonally into 1/2 inch thick slices. You should have about 12 pieces.

4

Grill the Bread

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat. Place the baguette slices on the grill and toast for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Assembling the Bruschetta

5

Top the Bread

Remove the grilled bread from the grill and place them on a serving platter. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice of grilled bread.

6

Serve

Drizzle any remaining olive oil from the bowl over the bruschetta and serve immediately while the bread is still warm.
