Burger Patty

Method

Burger Patty

1

Prepare the Burger Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the grass-fed ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently to incorporate the seasonings without overworking the meat. Form into two equal patties.

Cherry & Jalapeño Jam

2

Make the Cherry & Jalapeño Jam

In a saucepan, combine the chopped dark cherries, finely chopped jalapeño, sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let cool.

Caramelized Onion

3

Caramelize the Onion

In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onion and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 15-20 minutes or until the onion is golden brown and caramelized. Remove from heat.

Burger Assembly

4

Cook the Burger Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of goat gouda on each patty to melt.

5

Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each millet and flax bun, layer the cooked burger patty with melted goat gouda, caramelized onion, and fresh arugula. Top with the other half of the bun. Serve with cherry & jalapeño jam on the side.

Sides

6

Prepare the Sweet Potato Rounds

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss the sliced sweet potatoes with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Spread them out on a baking sheet in a single layer. Roast in the oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until they are golden and crispy.
