Fried Pickles
Ranch Dressing
Method
Fried Pickles Preparation
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the sliced dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
Prepare the Buttermilk
In another bowl, pour the buttermilk.
Coat the Pickles
Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until fully coated.
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot (around 350°F or 175°C).
Fry the Pickles
Carefully add the coated pickles to the hot oil in batches, frying until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Drain the Pickles
Remove the fried pickles with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Season with additional salt if desired.
Ranch Dressing Preparation
Combine Ingredients
In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
Mix Well
Stir the mixture until all ingredients are well combined and smooth.
Chill the Dressing
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
