Method
Preparing the Fries
Cut the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes, then cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch wide.
Soak the Fries
Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
Dry the Fries
After soaking, drain the fries and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add a batch of fries to the hot oil and fry them for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Season the Fries
While the fries are still hot, sprinkle them with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to taste. Toss to coat evenly.
Assembling the Dish
Add Cheese
Place the hot seasoned fries on a serving platter and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the top.
Add Bacon and Onions
Sprinkle the crumbled bacon and sliced green onions over the cheese-covered fries.
Drizzle Ranch Dressing
Drizzle ranch dressing over the entire dish to enhance flavor and add creaminess.
Serve Hot
Serve the All the Fixin' Fries immediately while hot, accompanied by extra ranch dressing for dipping if desired.
