Dumpling Filling

Method

Prepare the Filling

1

Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, ground beef, chopped cabbage, grated carrot, minced garlic, minced ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

2

Prepare the Wrappers

Lay out the dumpling wrappers on a clean, dry surface. Keep a small bowl of water nearby to moisten the edges of the wrappers.

Assemble the Dumplings

3

Fill the Wrappers

Place about 1 tablespoon of the filling mixture in the center of each dumpling wrapper. Be careful not to overfill.

4

Seal the Dumplings

Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it in half to create a half-moon shape, and press the edges together firmly to seal. You can pleat the edges for a decorative touch.

Fry the Dumplings

5

Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

6

Fry the Dumplings

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the dumplings in the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd them. Fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.

7

Steam the Dumplings

Add about 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and cover it immediately with a lid. Allow the dumplings to steam for about 5 minutes, or until the water has evaporated and the dumplings are cooked through.

8

Serve

Remove the lid and let the dumplings cook for an additional minute to crisp up the bottoms. Serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
