Crab Ball Steam Bun Ingredients
Method
Crab Ball Steam Bun Directions
Prepare the Crab Balls
In a large bowl, combine the lump crab meat, panko breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, egg, salt, and black pepper. Gently mix until well combined, being careful not to break up the crab meat too much.
Form the Balls
Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Steam the Crab Balls
Fill a steamer pot with water and place it over medium heat. Once the water is simmering, place the baking sheet with crab balls in the steamer basket. Cover and steam for about 8-10 minutes, or until the crab balls are cooked through.
Prepare the Steam Buns
While the crab balls are steaming, steam the buns according to package instructions, usually for about 5-7 minutes.
Assemble the Dish
To serve, place a crab ball inside a steamed bun, top with a spoonful of pickle slaw, and drizzle with Todd's mustard. Repeat for the remaining buns.
