Method

Preparation

1

Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved.

2

Add Zests

Remove the saucepan from heat and add 2 tablespoons of orange zest and 1 tablespoon of lemon zest to the sugar-water mixture. Allow it to steep for about 30 minutes to infuse the flavors.

3

Strain Mixture

After steeping, strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove the zest pieces, ensuring a smooth liquid.

4

Add Cointreau and Vanilla

Return the strained syrup to the saucepan, and then add 1 cup of Cointreau and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Stir well to combine.

5

Cool and Store

Let the mixture cool completely before transferring it to a clean glass bottle. Seal tightly and store in the refrigerator.
