Method

Döner Preparation

1

Marinate the Meat

In a large bowl, combine the beef and lamb with garlic, onion, olive oil, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.

2

Prepare the Cacik

In a bowl, mix yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, salt, and chopped fresh mint (if available). Adjust seasoning to taste and refrigerate until serving.

3

Cook the Meat

Preheat your grill or rotisserie. Thread the marinated meat onto skewers or place it on the rotisserie. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F), about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally.

4

Assemble the Döner

Slice the cooked meat thinly. Place the pita bread on a plate, add a generous amount of sliced meat, top with chopped lettuce, diced tomatoes, and a dollop of cacik.

5

Serve

Serve the döner immediately with extra cacik on the side.
