Burger Assembly
Method
Prepare Burger Patty
Mix the Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.
Form Patties
Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.
Make Homemade Relish
Combine Ingredients
In another bowl, mix the diced cucumber, red onion, diced tomato, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, black pepper, and chopped dill. Stir well to combine.
Chill the Relish
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the relish for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Cook the Burgers
Cook Patties
Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
Add Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Irish cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to melt.
Assemble the Burgers
Prepare Buns
Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.
Layer Ingredients
On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, pickles, and a generous spoonful of homemade relish.
Finish Assembly
Top with the upper half of the bun and serve immediately.
