Filling Preparation

1

Marinating the Steak

In a bowl, combine the ale, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, and black pepper. Add the flank steak, ensuring it is well coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

2

Cooking the Steak

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add a small amount of vegetable oil. Remove the steak from the marinade and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked to your liking. Remove from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.

3

Preparing the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the carrots, cabbage, and green onions. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp. Remove from heat.

4

Combining the Filling

In a large bowl, combine the sliced steak with the stir-fried vegetables. Mix well to combine all ingredients evenly.

Spring Roll Assembly

5

Preparing the Wrappers

Lay a spring roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner pointing towards you. Place about 2 tablespoons of the filling near the corner closest to you.

6

Rolling the Spring Rolls

Fold the corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly away from you. Wet the top corner with water to seal the spring roll. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Cooking the Spring Rolls

7

Frying the Spring Rolls

In a deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot. Carefully add the spring rolls in batches, frying for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
