Preparation Steps

1

Make the Hibiscus Pomegranate Reduction

In a small saucepan, combine dried hibiscus flowers and pomegranate juice. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly. Strain out the hibiscus flowers and let the reduction cool.

2

Juice the Oranges

While the reduction is cooling, juice the fresh oranges until you have about 4 cups of juice. Strain the juice to remove any pulp or seeds, if desired.

3

Combine Ingredients

In a large pitcher, combine the fresh orange juice, cooled hibiscus pomegranate reduction, and fresh thyme. Stir well to combine. Taste and add honey or agave syrup if desired for sweetness.

4

Serve

To serve, fill glasses with ice and pour the orange-hibiscus mixture over the ice. Top with sparkling water and garnish with additional fresh thyme, if desired.
