Preparation

1

Chill the Glass

Start by placing a cocktail glass or coupe in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while preparing the drink.

2

Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine 2 oz of Maker's Mark Bourbon, 1 oz of sweet vermouth, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.

3

Stir the Mixture

Stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled and diluted slightly.

4

Prepare the Glass

Remove the cocktail glass from the freezer or discard the ice water. Strain the mixed drink into the chilled glass.

5

Garnish the Cocktail

Twist the orange peel over the drink to release its oils, then add it to the glass. Top with a maraschino cherry for garnish.
