Burger Patty
Burger Toppings
Method
Prepare the Burger Patty
Mix Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the Angus beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until the seasonings are well distributed throughout the meat.
Form Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.
Cook the Patties
Add Cheese (Optional)
If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking. Cover with a lid to help the cheese melt.
Assemble the Burger
Prepare Toppings
While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato and onion (if using) into thin slices.
Toast Buns (Optional)
If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
Build Your Burger
Place the cooked burger patty on the bottom half of the bun. Layer with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and any condiments you desire. Top with the other half of the bun.
