Muddle fruit
Place the hulled, sliced strawberries and 6 fresh raspberries into a cocktail shaker or mixing glass. Add the simple syrup and fresh lemon juice. Use a muddler to gently press and mash the fruit until juices are released and the mixture is fragrant — about 10–15 seconds. Do not over-muddle to avoid crushing seeds.
Add vodka and ice
Pour 2 oz Smirnoff Strawberry Vodka into the shaker. Add about 1 cup of ice (or enough to fill the shaker halfway).
Shake
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels cold. This chills and dilutes the mixture slightly, integrating fruit, spirit, and sweet/tart components.
Assembly & Garnish (Bubbly)
Strain into glass
Fill a highball or Collins glass with fresh ice. Double-strain the shaken mixture through a fine mesh strainer into the prepared glass to remove fruit solids and seeds, leaving a smooth base for the bubbly.
Top with bubbly
Gently pour 4 oz chilled sparkling water, club soda, or prosecco over the strained cocktail. Stir once gently with a bar spoon to incorporate the bubbles without deflating them.
Garnish and serve
Thread 3 whole raspberries onto a cocktail pick and perch across the rim, add a strawberry slice on the rim and optionally a lemon wheel. Serve immediately with a straw or stirring stick.
