Cocktail

1

Chill glass (optional)

Place a coupe or highball glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it briefly with ice water to chill while you prepare the cocktail.

2

Fill a cocktail shaker with the measured ice (about 1 cup).

3

Pour 2 oz Grey Goose vodka, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, 0.25 oz simple syrup, and 0.25 oz orange liqueur (if using) into the shaker.

4

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well chilled.

5

If preparing a short cocktail: discard ice from the chilled glass (if used) and double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or a rocks glass over one large ice cube or neat as preferred.

6

If preparing a long/refreshing style: fill a highball glass with fresh ice, strain the shaken drink into the glass, then top with 1.5 oz soda water and gently stir once or twice to combine.

7

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
