Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Honey Simple Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine equal parts honey and water. Heat over low heat, stirring until the honey is fully dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool. Store any leftover syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

2

Juicing the Lemons

Roll the lemons on the counter to loosen the juices. Cut them in half and use a juicer to extract 0.75 oz of fresh lemon juice. Strain to remove any seeds or pulp.

Mixing the Cocktail

3

Combine Ingredients in Shaker

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz of Old Grand-Dad Bourbon, 0.75 oz of fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz of honey simple syrup.

4

Shake the Mixture

Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

5

Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into a chilled rocks glass filled with ice or serve straight up in a coupe glass. Optionally, garnish with a lemon twist.
