Hummus Preparation

Prepare the Ingredients

Rinse and drain the canned chickpeas. Cook the beet until tender and peel it. Prepare the garlic by peeling the cloves.

Blend the Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, fresh cilantro, cooked beet, garlic cloves, lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, and salt.

Adjust Consistency

Blend until smooth, adding water as needed to reach your desired consistency.

Taste and Adjust

Taste the hummus and adjust seasoning if necessary by adding more salt or lemon juice.

Prepare the Veggies

Wash and slice the cucumber, cut the carrots into sticks, and slice the bell pepper.

Warm the Pita

Warm the pita bread in a dry skillet or wrap in foil and heat in the oven for a few minutes.

Plate the Hummus

Spoon the prepared hummus into a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil if desired.

Arrange the Plate

Serve the hummus with the sliced veggies and warm pita on the side.
