Bruschetta Topping

Method

Prepare the Topping

1

Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the ripe tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

2

Add Basil

Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.

3

Season the Mixture

Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the mixture. Then, sprinkle in salt and black pepper. Drizzle the balsamic glaze over the mixture and gently toss everything together until well combined.

Prepare the Bread

4

Slice the Bread

Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

5

Toast the Bread

Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil and place them on a baking sheet. Toast in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Assemble the Bruschetta

6

Top the Bread

Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Top each slice generously with the tomato and basil mixture.

7

Serve

Serve immediately while the bread is still warm. Optionally, drizzle a bit more balsamic glaze on top before serving.
