Method

Cooking Pasta

1

Boil Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

2

Cook Fettuccine

Add fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

3

Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the pasta and set aside. Reserve a cup of pasta water for later use.

Cooking Chicken

4

Prepare Chicken

Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.

5

Cook Chicken

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 7-8 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and the juices run clear.

6

Slice Chicken

Remove the chicken from the skillet, allow it to rest for a few minutes, and then slice into strips.

Making Alfredo Sauce

7

Melt Butter

In the same skillet used for chicken, reduce heat to medium and melt the butter.

8

Add Cream and Garlic

Once melted, add the heavy cream and minced garlic. Stir and heat until the mixture begins to simmer.

9

Incorporate Cheese

Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and the sauce is creamy.

10

Season Sauce

Add nutmeg, salt, and black pepper to the sauce, and stir well.

Combining Ingredients

11

Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce, gently tossing to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.

12

Add Chicken Strips

Fold the sliced chicken into the pasta and sauce mixture.

13

Plate and Garnish

Serve the Chicken Alfredo hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
