Method
Hummus Preparation
Prepare the Chickpeas
Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water.
Blend the Ingredients
In a food processor, combine the drained chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and water.
Process Until Smooth
Blend the mixture until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed. If the hummus is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time.
Adjust Seasoning
Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning with more salt or lemon juice if desired.
Serve
Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil before serving.
Pita Chips Preparation
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cut the Pita Bread
Slice the pita bread into triangles or wedges.
Prepare the Pita Chips
In a large bowl, toss the pita triangles with olive oil, salt, and paprika until evenly coated.
Bake the Chips
Spread the coated pita triangles in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Cool and Serve
Remove the pita chips from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving with the hummus.
