Cooking Instructions
Sauté Onion and Garlic
In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
Add the Smoked Turkey
Place the smoked turkey leg into the pot and pour in the chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
Cook the Collard Greens
Add the chopped collard greens to the pot, stirring to combine. Cover and let simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the greens are tender.
Season and Serve
Remove the smoked turkey leg, shred the meat, and return it to the pot. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot.
