Fettuccine Alfredo Ingredients

Method

Fettuccine Alfredo Directions

1

Cook the Fettuccine

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

2

Make the Alfredo Sauce

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn it. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.

3

Add Cheese and Season

Once the cream is simmering, gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.

4

Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained fettuccine pasta to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly in the sauce. If needed, add more reserved pasta water to keep the sauce creamy.

5

Serve

Remove from heat and serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese, if desired.
