Method

Brewing the Tea

Boil Water

In a pot, bring 500 ml of water to a boil over medium heat.

Steep Tea

Once the water is boiling, add 2 tablespoons of black tea leaves. Allow the tea to steep for about 5 minutes.

Strain Tea

After steeping, strain the tea into a large container to remove the tea leaves.

Preparing the Milk Mixture

Mix Condensed and Evaporated Milk

In a separate bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of condensed milk and 1 cup of evaporated milk. Stir until well mixed.

Sweeten the Milk

Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to the milk mixture and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Combining and Frothing

Combine Tea and Milk

Pour the brewed tea into the milk mixture and stir well to combine.

Froth the Teh Tarik

To achieve the signature froth, pour the tea mixture back and forth between two containers from a height of about 12 inches. Repeat this about 5-6 times.

Serving

Pour and Serve

Pour the frothy teh tarik into cups and serve hot. Optionally, you can garnish with a sprinkle of tea leaves on top.
