Dough

Method

Dough Preparation

1

Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

2

Make Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add olive oil and the activated yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.

3

Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

4

Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Filling Preparation

5

Cook Filling

In a skillet over medium heat, add chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until translucent.

6

Add Beef and Spices

Add ground beef, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

7

Finish Filling

Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley. Let the filling cool slightly.

Assembly and Cooking

8

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

9

Shape Árabes

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into small balls. Roll each ball into a flat circle.

10

Fill and Seal

Place a spoonful of the beef filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and seal the edges by pressing firmly.

11

Bake

Place the sealed Árabes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
