Pork Belly

Method

Preparation of Pork Belly

1

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).

2

Prepare Pork Belly

Pat the pork belly dry with paper towels. Score the skin in a crisscross pattern, making sure not to cut into the meat. Season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on all sides.

Making the Maple Glaze

3

Combine Glaze Ingredients

In a bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, and ground ginger until well combined.

Cooking the Pork Belly

4

Roast the Pork Belly

Place the seasoned pork belly on a roasting rack in a baking dish. Roast in the preheated oven for about 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the pork is tender and the skin is crispy.

5

Add the Glaze

During the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the pork belly generously with the maple glaze. Return to the oven and continue to roast until the glaze is caramelized.

Finishing Touch

6

Garnish and Serve

Once cooked, remove the pork belly from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes. Slice into pieces and garnish with chopped parsley and sesame seeds before serving.
