Prepare the Glass
Start by preparing your glass. Take a lime wedge and rub it around the rim of a highball or rocks glass. Dip the rim into salt to coat it lightly.
Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz of tequila, 1 oz of strawberry shrub, and 1 oz of fresh lime juice. Add a handful of ice cubes to the shaker.
Shake Well
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until the mixture is well chilled.
Strain into Glass
Strain the mixture from the shaker into the prepared glass filled with ice cubes.
Add the Golden Tonic
Top off the drink with 4 oz of golden tonic, pouring gently to maintain the carbonation.
Garnish and Serve
Garnish the drink with fresh strawberries. Serve immediately and enjoy your Mexican Candy cocktail!
