Method

Preparation

1

Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey or pork with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, and thyme. Use your hands to mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty about 1/2 inch thick. Make sure they are uniform in size for even cooking.

3

Chill the Patties

Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes. This helps them hold their shape during cooking.

Cooking

4

Preheat the Pan

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil or cooking spray to the pan to prevent sticking.

5

Cook the Patties

Once the skillet is hot, place the patties in the pan. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and fully cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F for turkey or 160°F for pork).

6

Rest and Serve

Remove the cooked patties from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your homemade sausage patties!
