Method

Cooking the Cheese Grits

1

Prepare the Grits

In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Stir in the grits and salt.

2

Simmer

Reduce heat to low and cook grits for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

3

Add Milk and Cheese

Stir in the milk, butter, and cheddar cheese until well combined and creamy. Keep warm.

Cooking the Shrimp

4

Season the Shrimp

In a bowl, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning until evenly coated.

5

Cook the Shrimp

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.

6

Add Shrimp

Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and cooked through.

7

Make the Cajun Cream Sauce

Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in sliced green onions.

Making the Cornbread Waffle

8

Preheat Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

9

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.

10

Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, and melted butter.

11

Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

12

Cook Waffles

Pour the batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until golden brown. Repeat with remaining batter.
