Meatballs

Method

Meatballs

1

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2

Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

3

Form Meatballs

Roll the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

4

Cook Meatballs

Drizzle the meatballs with olive oil and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.

Gravy

5

Sauté Onions and Garlic

In a large pot, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.

6

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Add the canned crushed tomatoes to the pot along with the chopped fresh oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir to combine.

7

Simmer

Bring the gravy to a simmer and let it cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld.

8

Combine Meatballs and Gravy

Once the meatballs are cooked, carefully place them into the gravy and let them simmer together for an additional 10 minutes.
