Creamy Parmesan Orzo
Steamed Green Beans
Method
Blackened Salmon
Prepare the Spice Mix
In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
Season the Salmon
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Rub the spice mix generously over both sides of each salmon fillet.
Sear the Salmon
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillets and sear for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until the salmon is cooked through and has a blackened crust. Remove from heat.
Creamy Parmesan Orzo
Cook the Orzo
In a medium saucepan, bring chicken broth to a boil. Add the orzo pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
Make it Creamy
Once the orzo is cooked, reduce heat to low. Stir in heavy cream, butter, and parmesan cheese. Mix until combined and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Steamed Green Beans
Prepare the Green Beans
Trim the ends of the fresh green beans. Rinse under cold water.
Steam the Green Beans
In a steamer basket over boiling water, add the green beans and steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until tender but still crisp. Remove from heat and toss with butter and salt.
