Method
Preparation of Chicken Wings
Prepare the Chicken Wings
Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
Season the Wings
In a large bowl, mix together the baking powder, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss them until evenly coated.
Bake the Wings
Place the wings on a baking rack set over a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes to allow the fat to render.
Increase Temperature
After 30 minutes, increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) and continue baking for an additional 40-50 minutes, until crispy and golden brown.
Frying the Wings
Heat Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the oil over medium heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).
Fry the Wings
Carefully add the baked wings to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 8-10 minutes or until they are crispy and golden. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
